April 2019 Update: I dreamed up the name, Mango + Paper, in the blog’s early days. Since then, the blog has outgrown its name, and became more family and community driven. That’s why I decided to change the name to something more personal and meaningful, and also fits the blog’s current activities and identity.
the good l.f. story
Hello, and welcome to the good l.f. (pronounced “the good life”) where I share information and everyday moments that I hope others will find interesting and helpful.
Named after my grandmothers, Leonarda and Francisca, the good l.f. is driven by my appreciation for the simpler ways of life and inspired by our home, family and community.
the good l.f. is my hobby blog—born out of being a casual crafter and hobbyist. When someone asks me, “what do you do for fun?” I don’t always have a single answer. In all honesty, I spend most of my free time with my family and doing what other people would classify as chores. I like to bake and cook, tidy-up around the house, and go shopping (that is, looking at all the pretty stuff at T.J. Maxx and Target). Occasionally, I sign up for local classes that spark my interest. I’ve tried calligraphy, pastel and watercolor painting, sewing, and other short-lived interests.
What I’m trying to say is to live your version of the good life, living the life YOU want to live. For me, that’s living in the place I feel comfortable, with the people I love, doing what makes me come alive. So, take the pressure off, be yourself, and let your good shine!
meet the team of one
Hello, I’m Roxanne!
I was born in the Philippines, and then moved to California where
I graduated high school and joined the Air Force. Since then, I have been in the military for 17 years and counting! In 2013, my husband and I decided to relocate to my husband’s home state of Massachusetts to start our family of four. We have lived and worked around the country and overseas, so I’m pretty happy that we’ve settled in Massachusetts for good!
We’re proud to call—the beautiful and historic—Plymouth our home. If you’re visiting Plymouth, check out our community page where you’ll find a dining guide (local spots we frequent and love) and an activity guide (family friendly activities and events). We’re sure you’ll love Plymouth as much as we do!
